Bethel Public Library is located at the heart of scenic downtown Bethel, CT at 189 Greenwood Avenue. The Library has grown since its founding in 1909 from a small, single-room book lending library to two stories, 28,600 square feet, and several services beyond books. In addition to lending books, music, movies and digital materials, the Library also provides:

  • Several online databases
  • Newspapers and magazines
  • Language learning tools
  • Programs such as story times, crafts, movie nights, and guest speakers
  • Computer access and Wi-Fi
  • Computer classes and device advice
  • Art galleries and display cases

Art exhibit spaces generally are accessible during the Library’s hours: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 10-8; Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 10-5; and on Sundays 1-5 (September to June).

The Bethel Public Library is one of a select group of member libraries of Fairfield County Art Spaces.

Artists and collectors who wish to exhibit at the Library are invited to get an application at the Reference Desk or apply online
